There have been a lot of changes to the backend of this plug-in (and all future CNS Plug-ins) which is why this update took so long. However, it's all been done to make the plug-in work better and give a better overall experience to you, our users. This new version has a ton of changes in the POP3 functionality as well. Here's an excerpt from the readme file:

• Improved core plug-in code based on changes to other CNS plug-ins.
• Added a Cancel button to the Status Window.
• Completed the QuoteMessage function.
• Completed the "Prompt for Password" functionality.
• Fixed problems with inserting records and date validation issues.
• Fixed issues with downloading emails with incorrect line endings.
• Fixed some file manipulation speed issues.
• Fixed issues with the windows status window not actually showing progress.
• Made UNC paths work again on windows.
• Reintegrated the Mac OS X 10.3.9 version of the plug-in so now there is only one Universal Binary plug-in that will work on 10.3.9 and above and on PPC- and Intel-based Macs.
• Fixed some issues with parsing email dates.
• Changed the table creation code to not include the "POP3it_FullSource", "POP3it_Body_Text", "POP3it_Body_HTML", and "POP3it_Body_Enriched" fields by default. These fields can still be added to the table if desired. (If the plug-in finds the fields, it will insert data into them.)

There are even more updates for the windows users out there because I never got a windows version of beta 3 released.

Things to note about this version:

I have put both the Mac and Windows versions in the same zip file now along with a ReadMe.txt file. Please read the ReadMe.txt file because it contains information on how to install the plug-in and how to set it up and everything. You can find the zip file to the right in the "Downloadable Files" section. The name of it is "POP3it Pro 4.0.0 b4".

One of the new things in this plug-in is a new way to register the plug-in. The first time you use the plug-in in any way, you will be presented with a splash dialog that asks you to get a Demo Key or to Register if you have purchased a license. If you get a normal Demo Key then you will be presented with a splash screen every time you start a new FileMaker session and use the plug-in. However, since the plug-in is still in beta at this point, you can get a "Beta Key" which will allow the plug-in to run as if it's a full unlocked version until the beta period for this version has expired. To get a beta key, you simply need to provide a "Special Code" in the "Request Demo Key" dialog. So, when you run the plug-in for the first time and it asks you to get a Demo Key to use the plug-in, press the "Request Demo Key" button. This should bring up the "Request Demo Key" dialog asking for your name and optional email address. Press the "More" button and a few other fields show up, one of which is the "Special Code" field. For POP3it Pro 4.0 b4, the beta keyword is "meow". Simply type that in and you will get a beta key. If you have any problems with this new registration system, please let us know.
